Ghoul-a-thon Fundraiser

Friday, October 20, 2017 @ 5:00 - 7:00 PM

Once again, the Lake Superior Figure Skating Club is holding its spirit/team building and annual club fundraiser in the form of a Ghoul-A-Thon on Friday, October 20th from 5p.m.-7p.m. We are asking ALL skaters in our Jr/Int. and Sr divisions to participate and help us raise a minimum of $100.00 per skater to help our club fund ice time, skater development seminars, competitions and various special activities throughout the year. If you are unable to collect pledges please make out a cheque for $100.00 to LSFSC and submit the night of the Ghoul-A-Thon or give to Laurie Grenier along with the pledge form.

Our club goal is to raise $6000.00 this year so we are hoping everyone will work very hard to collect pledges. We hope you will consider trying to reach a higher goal as every dollar we collect helps us to pay for increasing ice and operating costs.

Our planning committee is designing the evening to focus on team building and fun for all who come out. We will have music, treats and fun activities planned throughout the evening. Parents please ensure that all our skaters come to this special team spirit building event. Skaters you do not have to be dressed up in a Halloween Costume but it is more fun if you do and adds to the Ghoul-a-Thon spirit.

We are asking every skater to bring one treat for sharing to the event such as cookies, fruit, veggies/dip, crackers/cheese to help put out a nice table of treats for our skaters and parents after the event upstairs in the John Rhodes seminar room. We do ask that treats be nut-free. A sign-up sheet will be posted near our display case in the next few weeks.

Finally, there are a few incentives built in into our fundraiser.

1.Skaters will receive a ticket for every $50.00 they raise that will go into a draw for a gift card valued at $75.00.

2. Skater raising over $500.00 in pledges will receive $ 75.00 gift card

2nd highest in pledges $50.00 gift card

3rd highest in pledges $25.00 gift card

There will be spot prizes, prize for best costume, most team spirit trophy.

We are looking forward to a great evening and would like to thank all of our skaters and families in advance for participating. Your fundraising efforts will play an important role in enhancing our ability to offer a little extra to our skating programs this season.

Sincerely,

Zahida Croskery

President LSFSC

A great big "Thank You!" to all our skaters, to the families for all the donations of food and to all our volunteers for your efforts in supporting our 2017-2018 LSFSC fundraiser. Last but not least, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated prizes for the Ghoul-AThon. Please note none of the prize money is deducted from the Ghoul-A-Thon fund. This is the only mandatory fundraiser that all the Star level skaters are asked to participate in and we consider it an overwhelming success.

The funds raised at this years Ghoul-A-Thon are used to meet increasing ice costs, skater bursaries, as well as helping with various events throughout the year including skater development programs, the Christmas Gala and our year-end banquet.

The purpose of the Ghoul-A-Thon is to raise much needed funds but also to enhance team building and enjoy the camaraderie across our StarSkate levels. We continue as a club to promote and strive for a strong feeling of "family" within our club. Just watching the skaters having fun on and off the ice made the whole evening worthwhile. We believe the parents enjoyed the evening as much as the skaters.

Thank you again for participating in this fun event.
