Dear Parents/Guardians and Jr/Int/Sr LSFSC Skaters:
Once again the Lake Superior Figure Skating Club is holding its spirit building and annual club fundraiser in the form of a skate-a-thon or Ghoul-a-thon on Friday ,October 20th from 5p.m.-7p.m. We are asking ALL skaters in our Jr/Int and Sr divisions to participate and help us raise a minimum of $100.00 per skater to help our club fund ice time, competitions and various special activities throughout the year. Our club goal is to raise $7000.00 this year so we are hoping everyone will work very hard to collect pledges. We hope you will consider trying to reach a higher goal as every dollar we collect helps us to pay for increasing ice and operating costs.
Our planning committee is designing the evening to focus on team building and fun for all who come out. We will have music, treats and fun activities planned throughout the evening. We are asking every skater to bring one treat for sharing to the event such as cookies, fruit, veggies/dip, crackers/cheese to help put out a nice table of treats for our skaters and parents after the event upstairs in the John Rhodes seminar room. We do ask that treats be nut-free. A sign-up sheet is posted near our display case .
Finally, there are two incentives being built into the fundraiser. Skaters will receive a ticket for every $50.00 they raise that will go into a draw for a prize valued at $75.00. As well, the skater who collects the highest amount will win a $75.00 prize, 2nd highest amount raised will win $ 25.00 prize, 3rd highest amount will win $10.00 gift.
We are looking forward to a great evening and would like to thank all of our skaters and families in advance for participating. Your fundraising efforts will play an important role in enhancing our ability to offer a little extra to our skating programs this season.

Dear Parents and Skaters:
Congratulations on raising $ 4,790.65 so far!
We expect this number to go up a little more as we gather a few more pledges form some skaters who were not able to attend.
Once again we had a great turn out with 11 Senior Skaters raising $2,065.00; 13 Intermediate Skaters raising $2,105.00; and 6 Junior Stars raising $620.65. Everyone of you did an awesome job collecting pledges and the hard work paid off.
This year's winner for the highest pledges gathered was Senior Skater, Emilie Vezina who raised a total of $835.00 winning the prize of a $100.00 Visa Card. Way to go!
Other notable fundraising stars were:
2nd place Chantel Levesque $670.00
3rd place Yvonne Barnes $300.00
4th place Brian Livingston $200.00
5th place Madelaine Vallee $175.00
6th place Cassie Grenier $170.00
Winner of the door Prize draw of a $75.00 Visa Card was Kali Montgomery.
Best Costume Prizes went to Junior Star skater, Lilas Metro; Intermediate skater, Vanna Finn; and Senior skater, Yvonne Barnes.
Most Team Spirit Trophy went to the Green Team led by Lilia Pelletier.
A great big "Thank You!" to all our skaters, to families for the donation of food and to all our volunteers for your efforts in supporting our 2016-2017 LSFSC fundraiser. This is the only mandatory fundraiser that all Star level skaters are asked to participate in and we consider it an overwhelming success.
The funds raised at this years Ghoul-A-Thon are used to meet increasing ice costs, skater bursaries, as well as helping with various events throughout the year including skater development programs, the Christmas Gala and our year-end banquet.
The purpose of the Ghoul-A-Thon is to raise much needed funds but also to enhance team building and enjoy the camaraderie across our Star Skate levels. We continue as a club to provide and strive for a strong feeling of "family" within our club. Just watching the skaters having fun on and off the ice made the whole evening worthwhile. We believe the parents enjoyed the evening as much as the skaters.
Thank you again for participating in this fun event.
